John: We drove to the next town today after we soaked in the free Liard River Hot Springs. This and the campground is a Canadian Provincial Campground... (we've stayed in a lot of these as they are so nice). Anyway, the hot springs are free of charge! They are a natural hot spring(s). They start a little river... you walk to them by a board walk through the forest for about 1/2 mile. The hot springs are crystal clear and really hot! It’s 120 degrees (or more) where it comes out of the ground! It was fantastic!! There was a cooler spot down the river where the kids could stand it. This is a stop you don’t want to miss. Further up the path was another hot spring pool (natural pool that is) that was only about 100 degrees... and deeper. It was a great spot. We soaked for over 3 1/2 hours... then drove to the next town called Moncho Lake. We are camped right on the shore of this beautiful lake. The water is also crystal clear, light green and blue. They say the fishin’ is good here, so I bought a license, but didn't get anything today. Will give it another try in the morning. I had to get a six day license, so maybe we can try a few more times on down the road. It’s pretty rainy beginning around 1:00, and is raining pretty good now (9:00 PM). There’s a lot (millions & billions) of “black flies”... they are a lot like mosquitoes. They swarmed us when we first got here... but have pretty much left us alone after we put stuff on. We drove a whopping 38 miles today!!
